Before you book

Where exactly is the hostel and how do I get to Petra?

We're in Wadi Musa, a 10-15 minute (≈1 km) downhill walk from the main Petra Visitor Centre. Going back up is steeper - most guests walk down in the morning and take a 1 JOD shared taxi back. The Petra bus station is a 4-minute walk and Wadi Musa downtown is just below us.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in from 14:00, check-out by 11:00. Arriving earlier or leaving later? We'll store your bags for free and you're welcome on the rooftop, in the lounge or by the pool.

Is breakfast included?

Yes - a proper Jordanian breakfast (eggs, hummus, labneh, fresh bread, jam, fruit, tea/coffee) is included for every room. If you're leaving for Petra before 06:30 we'll pack you a takeaway box the night before, no charge.

Do you serve dinner?

Most nights yes - a 6 JOD home-cooked Jordanian dinner buffet on the rooftop. It's the social moment of the day. Vegetarian options always available; vegan/gluten-free with a few hours' notice.

What's the airport transfer like?

Amman airport is ~3 hours by road. We run shared rides for around 25 JOD per seat (4 seats per car) - book on the Shared Rides page. Private transfers can be arranged for 80-100 JOD for the whole car.

Do you have parking?

Yes - free on-site parking. The street out front is also free and quiet at night.

Is there hot water and AC?

Yes in every room - hot water 24/7 and individual AC controls. Petra mornings get genuinely cold in winter; we provide extra blankets on request.

Can I do laundry?

Yes - same-day wash & dry service from 5 JOD per load. Drop it at reception in the morning, pick it up clean in the evening.

What's your cancellation policy?

Standard rates: free cancellation up to 48 hours before check-in. Non-refundable rates are clearly marked at booking and cost less. Tours can be cancelled up to 24 hours before with no fee.

Do you welcome solo travellers? Female travellers?

Both, absolutely. We run a female-only dorm with lockers right outside the door. The hostel is social by design - rooftop dinners and the free sunset trip are the best places to meet people on your first night.

Is the pool open year-round?

Roughly April to October, weather permitting. In winter the pool courtyard is still open as a lounge - just not for swimming.

Do you have private rooms?

Yes - private doubles, twins and triples, all with en-suite bathrooms, AC, and a kettle with tea & coffee. See the Rooms page for details.

Can I pay with card?

Yes - we accept Visa and Mastercard, plus cash in JOD, USD or EUR. Tours and shared rides are paid in cash or card on departure.

Do you have a curfew?

No. Reception is staffed 24/7 - come and go whenever you want.

Is the area safe?

Yes. Wadi Musa is one of the safest towns in Jordan, and Jordan is one of the safest countries in the region. Walking back to the hostel at night is fine.
